Cars in Germany's City Found Marked with Nazi Symbols in Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Authorities reported they were contacted by a man who discovered a car in Hanau marked with reddish fluid

Roughly fifty automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human blood in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Automobiles, exterior walls and postboxes were vandalized, in some cases with swastikas, they reported in a release.

Police state they were alerted late on Wednesday, when a man discovered that a car in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued fluid.

The substance had been applied in the form of a banned symbol, they stated.

Police then found multiple other vandalized cars and residential walls in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under regulations prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Law enforcement report initial examinations suggest the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.

"There is still no lead as to where it came from; officials are presently not aware of any physical harm in connection with the event," they stated.

Local authorities stated they were trying "to solve the incident" and have appealed to the residents for information.

A high-ranking official said the attack made him stunned and needed to be solved rapidly.

"This incident strikes at the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the extremist violent incident in 2020," he posted on a platform, recalling the death of nine individuals by a assailant aiming at individuals of foreign heritage in February 2020.
