Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been won on hardcourt
A resurgent the Russian player won his first trophy for over two years with success over Corentin Moutet in the competition championship match.
The athlete, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging season, winning just a single victory at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the American major.
Medvedev's varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his serving in especial - led to him dropping out of the top ten and finally splitting with former trainer Gilles Cervara.
Presently training with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 win over opponent Moutet.
This marks his initial championship following the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court from March of that year.
Victory also indicates Medvedev has secured twenty-one titles at twenty-one different events.
"For the first time I'm at a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a title is really nice," said ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his last six title deciders, featuring in that event previously this season.
Medvedev's counter-punching approach and recurring reactions on the tennis court had caused commentators to doubt if his capacity to play at the top level was finished.
Yet the player has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, striving to come to the net and compete aggressively, backed up by an better serving game.
The champion fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult opponent, taking 4 of the final five games to gain the advantage.
The pair exchanged breaks in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his first professional championship, gained dominance to force a decider.
He saved 4 initial break points in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev broke to that score to serve for the match.
Fittingly, the winner earned the title with a shot at the net area, with Moutet unable to handle a volley after over two and a half hours.
